The exterior appearance does not do justice to the magnificence of the interior: walls and ceiling are covered with remarkable frescoes. \n\t\t\t\t\t\tThe monastery was created to accommodate Beatrice d'Este, who desired to follow the Benedictine rule, and it arose in an area that was once an islet surrounded by marshy lands. The facade, simple and made of terracotta, features a portico. A kind nun, albeit with a faint voice, greets you and leads you inside the part of the monastery reserved for the nuns. Here, you can admire three wonderful frescoed chapels and a remarkable wooden choir.
