\n\t\t\t\t\t\tIn the wide space leading to Villa I Cancelli, between Incontri Street and Pietra Street, stands a tabernacle steeped in Medieval history. These religious objects, also documented in sixteenth-century maps from the Historical Archive of the Municipality of Fiesole, serve as a source of solace along the paths of travelers and pilgrims.\n

\nCrafted between the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the tabernacle features a niche with a neo-Gothic frame made of Pietra Serena stone.\n

\nAt its center lies a polychrome glazed terracotta bas-relief depicting the Madonna and Child, surrounded by a festoon of twentieth-century style.\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\tThe street takes its name from the Incontri family, originally from Volterra, who in 1665 were granted the Marquisate of Monteverdi and Canneto by Ferdinando II de' Medici for their political and diplomatic merits.\n\nAt number 8 stands Villa Incontri<\/b>, formerly Capponi, with a cypress-lined avenue leading to the main building, now used for tourist accommodation by the Incontri heirs. Continuing, at number 3 is Villa Macerelli<\/b>, formerly Tornabuoni, inhabited by Giovanni, uncle of the Magnificent. Its rooms were frescoed by Sandro Botticelli<\/b>, but the frescoes, disappeared during changes of ownership, are now exhibited at the Louvre Museum in Paris.\n\nOn the right, at number 22, stands Villa Il Poderino<\/b>, with a fifteenth-century layout and a chapel overlooking the street.\n\nVilla I Cancelli<\/b>, at number 21, surrounded by a park with centuries-old trees, has recently been used as a tourist facility managed by the Ursuline Sisters of San Carlo and Sant'Ambrogio. The street continues to recount stories of noble families and ancient residences, such as Villa Poggiosecco<\/b>, once the residence of the Ciai family in the fifteenth century, then destined for the Congregation of the Mantellate Sisters and now owned by the Italian Red Cross, awaiting a new intended use.\n\nVia Incontri, therefore, is a place that embodies the historical and architectural richness of Florence through the numerous residences that punctuate its path.\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\tThe tabernacle has recently undergone a careful restoration carried out by ARTLAB, led by Antonio Libonati. The neo-Gothic frame and the polychrome terracotta bas-relief, dating back to the late nineteenth century, were in compromised conditions. Efforts were made to consolidate the affected parts, while simultaneously recovering some of the lost modeling to optimize the overall aesthetic effect. Chromatic touch-ups were performed to blend the damaged portions, and a new painting of the plastered part has breathed new life into the tabernacle, thereby preserving its historical and cultural significance in the context of Via Incontri.\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
