Welcome to Affi<\/strong>, a hidden gem in the heart of Veneto<\/strong>,
just a few steps from the southeastern shores of Lake Garda<\/strong>.<\/p>

The history of Affi<\/strong> spans thousands of years<\/strong> and has its roots in Roman times<\/strong>,
when these lands were already renowned for the cultivation of olives and vines<\/strong>,
enabling the production of high-quality wine<\/strong>.
Over the centuries, the village transformed from a rural centre<\/strong> into a commercial and residential hub<\/strong>.<\/p>

Affi offers some historical and cultural sites<\/strong> worth visiting:
from the Pieve di Sant’Andrea<\/strong>, a 12th-century Romanesque church<\/strong>
built largely with local Incaffi stone<\/strong>,
to the Parish Church of San Pietro in Vincoli<\/strong>, in neoclassical style<\/strong>.<\/p>

There are also several beautiful residences, such as Villa Poggi<\/strong>,
renovated in the 17th century<\/strong> by the Da Persico family<\/strong>.
With the addition of porticoes<\/strong> in the early 19th century<\/strong>,
the villa reached a total length of 140 metres<\/strong>.<\/p>

Also of great interest is the West Star site<\/strong>:
an incredible \u201cunderground citadel\u201d<\/strong> dating back to the Cold War era<\/strong>,
built inside Mount Moscal<\/strong>.
Once a military bunker<\/strong> of NATO’s Allied Land Forces Southern Europe<\/strong>,
this fallout shelter<\/strong> has now been recognised as a heritage site<\/strong>.
It will soon house a museum dedicated to that historical period<\/strong>, with a public opening planned.<\/p>

The surroundings of Affi offer magnificent natural spots<\/strong>,
ideal for unforgettable walks and excursions<\/strong>.
Numerous wine cellars and vineyards<\/strong> provide guided tours and tastings<\/strong>,
allowing visitors to discover and savour the region\u2019s winemaking heritage<\/strong>.<\/p>

The hills around Affi<\/strong> are a true paradise for hikers and nature lovers<\/strong>:
the trails offer spectacular panoramic views<\/strong> of Lake Garda<\/strong>,
the surrounding villages<\/strong>, and the distant mountains<\/strong>.
In particular, the Parco della Rocca<\/strong>, located not far from Affi,

\n Around Lake Garda<\/strong>, the culinary journey<\/strong> is rich in flavours and traditions<\/strong>.\n This area, which includes places like Garda, Bardolino, Affi<\/strong>, and Lazise<\/strong>,\n offers cuisine deeply tied to the lake\u2019s waters<\/strong>, enriched by strong Venetian roots<\/strong>\n and influences from Trentino and Lombardy<\/strong>.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n At the heart of everything is the Garda DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) extra virgin olive oil<\/strong>.\n This precious ingredient<\/strong> is present in most dishes\u2014even some sweet ones<\/strong>.\n This oil, together with the area\u2019s wines<\/strong>, embodies the identity of the region<\/strong>.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n Among the first courses<\/strong> that best represent the Veronese Garda tradition<\/strong>,\n bigoli con le sarde di lago<\/strong> (bigoli with lake sardines) stands out.\n Once a humble dish, it has been rediscovered for its simplicity and intense flavour<\/strong>.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n From the inland, the famous tortellini of Valeggio sul Mincio<\/strong> are made with ultra-thin pastry<\/strong>\n and a rich filling<\/strong> of meat, cheese, nutmeg and rosemary<\/strong>.\n These tortellini, well known around Verona and Mantua<\/strong>, are also called \u201clove knots\u201d<\/strong>\n due to a 14th-century legend<\/strong> of two lovers, still celebrated today during the Festa del Nodo d\u2019Amore<\/strong>.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n Peasant tradition<\/strong> is also found in Carbon\u00e8ra<\/strong>,\n a dish of polenta whipped with local cheeses<\/strong> and enriched with Garda DOP olive oil<\/strong>.\n Once prepared by charcoal burners<\/strong>, it is still appreciated today for its creamy texture<\/strong>\n and robust flavour<\/strong>.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n The lake\u2019s clear waters<\/strong> offer a wide variety of fish<\/strong> that become the stars of\n appetisers, first courses and main dishes<\/strong>.\n Trout, whitefish, sardines<\/strong> and perch<\/strong> are grilled, stewed,\n or used in risottos and flavourful pasta dishes<\/strong>.\n <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
