\n Starting with a great classic of local cuisine: the agnolotti del plin<\/strong>.\n These are small ravioli<\/strong> closed with a pinch (plin), stuffed with meat<\/strong> and often served with a rich roast sauce<\/strong>.\n They are an absolute must-try<\/strong> at Scannabue<\/strong> or Tre Galline<\/strong>:\n the former has become a landmark in the San Salvario neighbourhood<\/strong> and beyond,\n while the latter is a true institution in the heart of the Quadrilatero Romano<\/strong>.\n At Pastificio Defilippis<\/strong>, one of the oldest pasta shops in Turin,\n it is possible to taste freshly handmade pasta<\/strong>, including agnolotti, or buy some to take home.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n Another typical dish is the vitello tonnato<\/strong>: thin slices of veal<\/strong> served with a creamy sauce<\/strong>\n made from tuna, boiled eggs, anchovies<\/strong>, and capers<\/strong>.\n The recipe is believed to date back to the Savoy court in the 19th century<\/strong>.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n While visiting Turin in the colder months, it must be tried the bagna cauda<\/strong>:\n a hot sauce<\/strong> made from garlic, anchovies, oil<\/strong>, and butter<\/strong>,\n into which raw seasonal vegetables<\/strong> are dipped.\n It is the ultimate dish of conviviality<\/strong>.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n As for desserts, bonet<\/strong> is Turin\u2019s signature sweet<\/strong>:\n a cold pudding<\/strong> made with cocoa<\/strong> and amaretti biscuits<\/strong>.\n Originating in the 18th century<\/strong> as a humble dessert, it is to be found on traditional restaurants\u2019 menus<\/strong>.\n <\/p>\n\n
